Welcome to MIND HUB,
MIND HUB, which stands for Medical Interventions for Neuroplastic Development: Holistically Understanding the Brain, is a private Mental Health and Psychiatry Healthcare practice that first opened its doors in 2019 in Portland, Oregon. I, Esther Gabrielle Rosengarten, am the founder and sole provider of MIND HUB. I treat a wide variety of mental health disorders by providing diagnostic, medication management, brief psychotherapeutic and educational services to individuals committed to bettering their emotional wellness and/or cognitive functioning in a sustainable manner, which in time is likely to minimize their need for medications. I incorporate a certain amount of psychotherapy in the care I provide to catalyze healing as medication is most often much less helpful when not combined with psychological counseling; For this reason, I tend to work with individuals who are either already working with or looking to work with an individual psychotherapist in the near future.
I aim to prescribe the least amount of medication needed to help the issue(s) at hand and gladly help patients safely come off medications that are no longer needed, wanted or sufficiently helpful; Thanks to neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to rewire itself, it’s only natural that its need for medication may change during the course of treatment, which is why re-evaluating this need regularly is a top priority. Every individual is genetically, biologically and psychologically unique, so in order to be most helpful, I strive to understand the neurological and psychological connections that make up their unique perspective and work closely with them to find what medications will suit them best and are least likely to cause them side effects, adverse reactions or discomforts upon discontinuation. I strongly believe in the value of patients being well informed as to the processes that underlie their discomforts and their options for betterment and in patients being full partners in their care.
I use a holistic approach, that highlights how lifestyle, environment and our perceptions are also key players in determining our biology and emotional wellness. With this in mind, my efforts aim to not only identify and ease what ails patients, but also help them better understand the etiology of their symptoms, find meaning in their experience, reconnect with and further develop inner strengths, and make a plan to better handle life’s curve balls moving forward. Everyone has a unique perception of the world and of themselves, as well as their own values, beliefs, experiences and concepts of what would lead them to a happier life.
My areas of clinical specialty include: social anxiety, agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, specific phobias, major depressive disorder, bipolar affective disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), binge eating disorders, hair-pulling and skin picking disorders, alcohol and cannabis use disorders. At this time, I am not offering treatment services for opioid use disorders. Lastly, please note that I unfortunately do not specialize in treating anorexia nervosa, body dysmorphic disorder or gender dysphoria; For those looking for help with these conditions, our Resources page may offer some potentially helpful links to access specialized support and treatment resources.
